2017 Cortada Alta Pinot Noir Magnum
Handcrafted by renowned winemaker Ed Kurtzman, the Mansfield-Dunne 2017 Cortada Alta Vineyard Pinot was aged in French oak (64% new) for 10 months before bottling. The 2017 Cortada Alta Pinot shows its high altitude location with a deeper color than we typically see from the Peterson Vineyard Pinots and the texture is extravagant, due to the extra hang time and ripening this vineyard sees. Aromas of ripe berries and cinnamon are framed by elegant rose petals on the nose. The palate broods with dark leather, cocoa nibs and forest floor. Huckleberry rounds off the well-balanced mid palate with firm tannins and a long, fresh finish. This should be at its best now through 2028.
