2019 Peterson Vineyard Pinot Noir
The dark ruby color of the 2019 Peterson Vineyard Pinot Noir portrays the smaller than average crop and the long hang time of the vintage. The classic Santa Lucia Highlands aromas jump out of the glass with black cherries, Pu-Erh tea, dried herbs, fresh, loamy earth, and subtle tobacco. Ripe tannins and moderate acidity balance out the abundance of berry fruit on the palate. The flavors grow more complex with air in the glass or in a decanter. A super long finish rounds out this impressive wine. The 2019 is reminiscent of the wonderful 2010 and 2012 Peterson Pinots which are still drinking beautifully.
