2021 Cortada Alta Vineyard Chardonnay

The cool nights and warm, sunny afternoons of Cortada Alta create a beautiful expression of Chardonnay at this high-altitude vineyard in the Santa Lucia Highlands.  The 2021 Chard is floral with restrained tropical fruit, rich acidity, and delicate spice.  The nose greets you with notes of subtle passion fruit, honeydew melon, cotton, and a distinctive flintiness.  On the palate, mouthwatering cantaloupe and rich lemon zest are framed by orange creamsicle, chamomile tea and coconut flavors with hints of white pepper.  The finish is very long with rich acidity and subtle oak notes.
